About Chatham

Chatham is the largest community in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, with about 45,000 residents along both banks of the Thames River. It sits just off Highway 401, roughly halfway between Windsor and London, surrounded by rich farmland.

Living here

Chatham was a major terminus of the Underground Railroad and is home to the Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society and Black Mecca Museum. Today it offers good housing value, a riverside downtown and a strong classic-car culture: Chatham-Kent calls itself the Classic Car Capital of Canada and hosts RetroFest each spring.
